In this final and third part of our series, "Family History and Artificial Intelligence (AI)", SAG member Andrew Redfern will continue to explore this fascinating area, looking at the past using current technologies.  This session will delve deeper into ChatGPT as well as exploring other tools and how they can be tailored specifically to genealogical research.

Topics and skills covered during the webinar will enable participants to:

  • Extend the functionality of ChatGPT using plugins and integrations
  • Investigate images and AI and their application in genealogical research
  • Examine alternative AI tools to ChatGPT
  • Develop strategies for assessing AI tools and their usefulness

Filled with many practical examples, there will also be ample opportunities to ask questions and share your own experiences in using AI tools.

About the presenter:

Andrew Redfern is a passionate family historian and technology enthusiast. Since his initial interest in researching his family tree in the mid 1980s, Andrew has developed a deep interest in how technology can enhance the way we explore and preserve our family histories.

Recently, Andrew has become interested in the potential of artificial intelligence and machine learning to aid family historians. He has been exploring various AI-powered tools and software that can assist in genealogical research and is excited about the possibilities they offer.
