The Society supports the global community of family historians with training, events, peer support, developing its archive/reference collections, and advocacy activities.

Role:

Librarian / Library Advisor

Do you have a passion for libraries, history and family history? The Society is looking for someone with strong librarian skills to support the technical requirements of maintaining and building our collection whilst also supporting our researchers and working alongside our other staff and volunteers.


The role is available at 0.8 or 1.0 FTE or can be taken as a 4 or 5 days a week role. This would include flexible working as we will require some Saturday and possible evening working in line with events and Library opening hours.

This is for a permanent position, however we are open to discussing shorter term opportunities.

Role:

Archives Project Manager

Do you have a passion for archives and history? The Society of Australian Genealogists houses a collection of over 65,000 works that are detailed in the Manuscript, Images and Digital Archives System (MIDAS).

We have 1-year full time (35 hours per week) paid contract role to project manage the collection to its next stage for the Society. This would include flexible working as we will require some Saturday and possible evening working in line with events, both online and in-person.

Overall we are looking for someone with archival and project management skills that can take our MIDAS collection to the next stages as outlined in the PD.
