Colonial Australia Research Group

About

CARG meets to discuss research on arrivals in Australia from 1788 to 1901. All are welcome to attend and contribute to our meetings.

In 2024 we’ll be looking at what colonists did once they arrived, where they moved to and the challenges they faced. This gives us scope to look further than the NSW story, and explore how other states grew into thriving centres.

Each meeting we’ll be looking for case studies from our participants to present and show us how they discovered the settlement experience of their ancestors. Keep an eye on our Discussion Forum for calls for contributions.

This group meets 4 times per year.
Each session lasts approximately 2 hours.
