Family History isn't just about the names and dates, it's about showing the stories with images and texture. Canva can turn memories and research into shareable visuals.

Journalist and storyteller Jane Hutcheon introduces you to Canva, a free online design platform that helps family historians transform research and memories into effective, attractive visuals. You'll learn how to create short, story-driven designs such as a family slide, collage or poster - no design experience necessary!

During the workshop, Jane will demonstrate how to use Canva's templates, add photos and text and apply simple design principles to make your visual stories shine. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the tools and know-how to go forth and create! It's a visually engaging way to share your research at family gatherings, celebrations and festivities, in blogs or in future story presentations. 

This session is for anyone who wants to move beyond charts and data and begin showing the heart of their family history through pictures and story telling.
