Ready to take the next step with your DNA test results? In this two-part series, genetic genealogist Donna Rutherford will guide you through the fundamentals of segment analysis and chromosome painting - powerful techniques that can help you identify how your matches connect to your family tree.

In the first session, you’ll learn how to interpret shared segment data and understand the tools available to work with segments.

In the second session, Donna will show you how to use this information in practice by demonstrating chromosome painting using the DNAPainter website — visualising how segments are inherited and how they can be grouped by ancestral line.

Whether you’re new to working with segments or just want a practical refresher, these sessions are designed to build your confidence and expand your DNA toolbox. Each session includes a handout and will be recorded for later viewing.
