This meeting will see the start of our County/Shire Presentations which are aimed to give attendees a bit of history of the county and also some information on the resources that are available for your family history research.

We will cover both Ayrshire and Kirckudbrightshire in this meeting - thanks to members Kerry Farmer and Michelle Tabet for putting their hands up to start these presentations.

We are pleased to advise that Emma & Graham Maxwell from Scottish Indexes will give us a presentation on  Understanding Scottish Census Records which will cover: How did the process of recording the census actually work? Has that created any problems? We’ll look at the basics in this presentation but also take a deeper look to enable us to get the most out of census records and save some money in the process.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A so bring along your questions.

Note: These meetings are collaborative in nature so we ask that you be prepared not only to ask questions but to help others with suggestions which may help with where an answer to a query might be found. No question is a silly question, it is just one which you may not have an answer to but which someone else may have found the answer.

Skill level:  All, beginners welcome

Leads: Diana Pecar, Elizabeth Gordon, Sue Park and Sally Skulte

This session will be recorded for those who are unable to attend live.
