EVENTS

We run an extensive program of lectures, workshops, tours and group meetings which are open to everyone. We also hold member-only webinars and members receive a discount on our events.

Event venues

Most of our events are held at Richmond Villa, 120 Kent Street, Millers Point. Please note that this is a three storey heritage building with no lift. Computer workshops are held at our Library, 2/379 Kent Street, Sydney. There is lift access available and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible in this building.

Some events, such as tours and conferences, take place off-site. Details are provided in each event listing.

    Go beyond the DNA basics and examine in greater detail what can be done with Ancestry DNA results - exploring ethnicity and DNA cousins. The session will also look at privacy settings, linking DNA to a family tree, sharing access to Ancestry DNA results, uploading a family tree and downloading raw data.

    While the first education record that comes to mind is the very important school pupils register and related records such as the discipline register there are a range of other education records that are also of genealogical use. These include records of teachers and their movements within the school systems and progressions (or otherwise in their careers), School Inspector Reports, the community involvement in getting a school in their district and the continued community involvement in the school activities, development of the curriculum and examinations, school journals and histories.
