Buried Treasure: An Introduction to Internet Archive
There is a free resource with millions of genealogy records just waiting for you, and it’s called Internet Archive.
You might have seen reference to this in other talks, but now Patrice Connelly is going to guide you through the process of getting a lot more out of it.
She’ll use slides to introduce you to how it works, but then organised chaos will reign as participants try out their search skills and report on their findings.
All participants should be at a computer, and if you have a computer and a laptop, you might want to watch on the laptop while searching on the larger machine. That’s up to you.
By the end of the webinar, you should be
a) excited at how much is on this resource;
b) enthralled at what you’ve already found; and
c) enthusiastic about what you’re going to find in coming days and weeks.
About Family History Connect:
Our 'members-only' series, Family History Connect, features themed sessions focused on a particular area of genealogy research.
Sessions are generally facilitated by one of the Society’s wonderful volunteers and will usually take place online. These sessions are open to all current members of the Society.
These sessions are an opportunity for you to discuss research strategies and approaches, get ideas for source leads and next steps.
