Hi everyone, I am planning a trip to Ireland in April-May this year and visiting various counties. How do I find a local research office where I may be able to find where my ancestors lived? They are mostly convicts arrived in 1830's. I haven't had much luck trying to find them on the Griffiths Valuations, or else you find the family name but not sure how they relate to you. Names are Bridget Reynolds,a famine orphan from Ennistymon, Clare. Martin Heagney, convict from Loughrea,Galway. James Roarty and wife Margaret Sharkey evicted from their home at Gweedore,Donegal. Jane Pearson, came free as a child with family from Letterkenny, Donegal. And John Downey supposedly from Dublin, but I have no clues at all as to where he was born or when he came here, convict or free.
Hoping to get some help and guidance, please. Thanks Jo
