In addition to records of baptisms, marriages and burials, parish chests have been used in England since the 16th century to store records of apprenticeships, militia, parish support, fathers of illegitimate children – and much more. Kerry Farmer will demonstrate how these records can be used to solve many genealogical puzzles.
