    Webinar recordings - 10:00am - 05:00pm  Webinar recording - TMG Group, Gedsite

This is a recording of a presentation by John Cardinal to the TMG Group in August 2017.

John has developed a program call GEDSITE, which compiles a customisable web site or writes HTML files on CD/DVD, using a GEDCOM file as the input data. Programs that can write a GEDCOM or use GEDCOM as their native file format will work with GEDSITE.

SAG members can listen to this recording by registering online and paying $12 - you will then receive a link to the recording which you can listen to as often as you wish until 30 June 2018.

Working for a Living - Occupations in 19th Century New Zealand

What did your ancestors do to earn a living or just survive? Farmers, fishermen and miners topped the list. Find out where to go for information about their work and how that changed during the century. This can add to your family story. Bring along your “brick wall” questions, hopefully for all to solve. Get together for lunch afterwards.

As an added bonus for the meeting, Kiwi born historian Catherine Bishop, will talk about her research and findings for her new book about businesswomen in colonial New Zealand cities. I'm sure you will find her insights enlightening. Catherine has previously written an award winning book on colonial business women in Sydney.
