Covid-19 restrictions apply for the next few months. The Library will re-open Thursday 4 June 2020 at 10am.
We will be introducing an online booking system for computers, film readers, fiche readers and reading tables. This will allow us to manage our capacity and undertake a full clean between each session. The kitchen will not be available. Initially, we will be open Tuesday, Thursday and every second Saturday with sessions from 10-12.30pm and 1pm-3.30pm. We will close at 3.30pm.
On entry to the Library, your temperature will be taken. We have hand sanitiser throughout the Library and encourage you to clean your hands regularly whilst in the Library.
We appreciate your patience as we slowly transition back to being a fully functioning library.
It is essential to book a session to attend the Library (Level 2, 379 Kent Street, Sydney). You can email, phone 02 9299 5151 or make an online booking here.
Our Library at 2/379 Kent Street has two lifts and is equipped with accessible toilet facilities. Some education activities are held in this building, particularly 'hands on' computer sessions and library tours.
If you prefer not to use the lift, you can reach the second floor via the fire stairs. Please call us on 9299 5151 on approach so we can arrange access through the fire door if you are not using the lift.
Richmond Villa at 120 Kent Street is an historic three-storey property (originally built 1849) and both the seminar room and bathrooms are only accessible via stairs. There is no lift. However, the Manuscript and Image Collection and Library Stack material can be accessed on the ground floor, and wheelchair access to this floor can be arranged.
If you require special assistance to use our collections or attend a seminar, please telephone in advance and speak to our staff, who will be happy to assist you.
